"Finally, female dominated rock n roll"

"Nothin' Pretty" marks filmmaker/photographer Katrina del Mar's first foray into music video directing. Shot over the beautifully dreary skies of Brooklyn, this 4 minute film makes suffering visible in its gritty depiction of pain and loss through scraping concrete, crumbling facades, broken glass and dripping paint.

"There's nothin pretty in my world," sings Karen Curious, the fiery frontwoman of New Professionals, a band ringing bells back to the Pretenders and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. It's a breakup song with hit appeal and yet it's won over all the tough as nails rocker bitches in New York City. It's no wonder, as a thing of beauty is a joy for everyone.
